When does Melbet ask for documents?
Most players are asked to verify before their first large withdrawal. Small withdrawals via MTN MoMo & Airtel Money sometimes go through without documents, but the operator is entitled to request verification at any point per its terms.
The smoothest route is to upload documents on the day you register, not on the day you want to withdraw.
Documents Ugandan players are commonly asked for
- Identity document: passport, national ID card, or driver licence. Both sides, colour, all four corners visible, no glare.
- Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or government letter dated within the last 3 months, showing your name and address exactly as registered.
- Selfie with the document: a photo of you holding the ID next to your face.
- Proof of deposit method: if you deposited by card, a photo of the card showing the last four digits and your name (cover the CVV and middle digits). If you deposited via MTN MoMo, a screenshot of your account showing the transaction.
How to upload
- Log in to your account.
- Open Menu → Personal profile → Verification.
- Upload clear photos (under 5 MB each, JPG or PNG).
- Wait — the typical review takes 24 to 72 hours.
Top reasons verification is rejected in Uganda
- Name mismatch between your ID and your account (or your MTN MoMo wallet).
- Blurry photos or cropped corners.
- Documents older than 3 months (for proof of address).
- Screenshots of digital documents that have been edited.
Do not. Open a second account to "skip" verification. That breaks the one-account rule and will lead to confiscation of both balances.
Withdrawal blocked pending verification?
Do not make another deposit or chase losses while waiting. Reply to the verification email with any requested clarifications. Once approved, payouts via MTN MoMo & Airtel Money usually process within the times published on the payments page.
